And for those of you who are looking for a change in wardrobe or just want some advice in a great place to go shopping, let me give you one word: SOHO


In Portland my favorite place was Hawthorne, which is a street full of vintage shops and cute boutqiues that offers one-of-a-kind pieces. When I traveled to South Korea, Dongdameun shopping center was a great spot with cheap finds, and the experience was fun to due to all the bargaining. But when it comes to mixing and matching, Soho in New York City takes the cake for the best spot.



On Broadway, they offer the mass marketed stores that carry the cheap finds that can be mixed in with the high-end designers. Stores like H&M, Forever 21, Old Navy line Broadway, and the very much anticipated Top Shop is to open this fall. Although the streets tend to crowd, especially during weekends and holidays, the cheap thrills will totally be worth it.

Now to spice up the wardrobe just walk west of Broadway and you will hit all the higher end stores. To find that “It Bag” of the season take a stop by Louis Vuitton, Prada, or Chanel which are all beautifully decorated flagships. But if you are looking for great service, make sure you dress to impress because sales associate tend to ignore people who give the impression that they can’t afford high-end.



To buy the other key points of your wardrobe contemporary designers such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Anna Sui, and Diesel offer a great selection. For vintage lovers What goes around Comes around on West Broadway has unique finds. And if you want a retailer that carries various brands go to Barneys Co-op, Intermix, or Scoop NYC.

It's that time of the year again

A couple postings ago I talked about how new American designers were on the rise all thanks to the CFDA/Vogue fashion fund. It's that time of the year again, and the top 10 contestants were featured in the recent VOGUE.

Alexander more than deserves this award. It was love at first collection for me and him. His androgyny chic, with a edgy rock n roll style is flying off the racks. The best of luck to him.

Yes yes....I am glad to see that Obama is kicking some Clinton ass. The string of losses is getting her into panic mode. which is quiet amusing to see her scrambling with her campaign advisors in last attempts to win the remaining states.

anyways.......now onto more important things...like Proenza Schouler fall 2008.





Wow. I think the main element that made me fall in love was the colors. Just look and stare at the purple blouse. Can a color get any more intriguing? The collection is simple and i hate to say the word "chic" but it is. Very Jack-and-lazaro-esque. can't get enough of it. probably won't be able to afford it....that's why they are like God. They create beautiful things, yet they are so unattainable.

Ever since the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund started in 2004, fresh designers have been getting increasingly into the spotlight. When did Proenza Schouler start their line? 2002....and just this past year tied with legendary Oscar da le Renta for womenswear designer of the year.

Vogue's current issue does a story with Kate Boseworth and "the hottest" designers....is it coincidence that every single name was at one point a nominee or the winner of the CFDA fund? Or is just that people are starting to appreciate new and innovating designs over premium names such as Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, etc.

MET is so on top of things. Realizing what our culture consists of today, and putting a amazing exhibition about it.



Nylong Magazine has an article about it. GO read it. I totally agree with everything they say. It's because of technology like blogging that is making the fashion industry today that much more of what it's suppose to be.

Victoria Beckham will be the face for Marc Jacob's Spring 2008 Campaign.

This is too much irony for me. So his show was suppose to be sort of an awkward, strange, sex appeal type feel. And many people commented how funny it was that Victoria Beckham one of the hoochiest people out there was sitting front row in her skin tight bandana dress.


....whatever....it's probably gonna kick ass anyways. who am i to say anything.
